Increasing bilateral trade in a wide range of sectors, including food and mining, was high on the agenda of the latest Iran-Poland Trade Conference held on Sunday in the Iranian city of Mashhad, capital of Khorasan Razavi Province, deputy governor of the northeastern province, Mohammad Mehdi Moravvej al-Sharia, said on Monday.

A 70-strong Polish delegation headed by Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Economic Development Radoslaw Domagalski arrived in Mashhad over the weekend and held talks with provincial official there.

Polish Ambassador to Iran Juliusz Gojlo also accompanied the Polish mission, Mehr News Agency reported.

“Trade between Tehran and Warsaw amounts to $700 million annually. We are eager to expand our financial and cultural interactions with Iran,” he said.

Thirteen Iranian delegations have visited Poland over the past three years and eight Polish missions have visited Iran in return.

Governor General of Khorasan Razavi Alireza Rashidian, heading a delegation of 30 economic players, visited the Central European country in January.
